Boston were just OK for me at the Hard Rock LIve.  They are a curious mixture of hard rock with some smaltzy ballads. I did not like the first half of the show as the the band was very loud and overwhelmed their new lead singer Jimmy DeCarlo found off You Tube. Also the songs tend to have a similar tempo and rhythm and all merged together. The show got better once the band slowed things down with a great version of Amanda well sung by lead guitarist Michael Sweet,  the star performer in the band. The band performed good versions of Taking my Time and What Does it Take to be a Man, sounding almost Queen like at times. More than a Feeling got the audience on their feet and the band closed with a hard rocking encore of Something About You.

A good part of the audience was very enthusiatic toward the end of the show but a show best for those who know they really like Boston's music.
