George Benson's 'Tribute to Nat King Cole' was a mellow and unique show. George was backed by a large orchestra of more than 30 people , and choir of 6 together with his own band.

It's not that often now that you get to hear the rich melodious songs of Nat King Cole with a live orchestra. George's voice suited the songs well and although George was obviously not that familiar with all the words he performed good versions of the classics of Unforgettable; Mona Lisa and Smile to name a few.

The show concluded with George's own songs with just his band  and the orchestra leader remaining on piano. George's guitar playing, enthusiasm and interpretation were at their best on the show closer 'Give me the night' which had all the audience on their feet.

If the Tribute to Nat King Cole is ever repeated, catch the orchestra and George's sumptuous voice.
