It's New years Eve on the South Bank of the London Thames, and an alien invasion has begun - led by Welsh acid pop gurus the Super Furry Animals.
The band have rented out one of the biggest buildings on the riverside to host a party of magnificent proportions: there's live art, face painting, video confessionals and of course, lots of music.
The band play three sets this evening, each one witnessed through increasingly bleary eyes. Starting with rarities and B-sides ('Mrs Spector'), the band end up playing their excellent greatest hits. Everything climaxes suitably with 'The Man Don't Give A F*ck' at midnight.
Even casual listeners of the group can't fail but smile tonight: their surf pop and psychedelic experimentation means that everyone's grinning from tooth to tooth as they head into 2008.
