Being the bands' first stop on their Exile in America tour, I had no expectations. It usually takes bands at least a few shows to get in the groove of performing, but not Matchbox Twenty. They were a very tight from the start. The songs were delivered with the same precision as can be heard on their records.
You can tell from their performance that they are a band that has been around for a while. Even with their old drummer moving over to guitar, the band didn't miss a beat. The added benefit of being together for so long is that they have a backlog of memorable songs. The highlight of the show, however, had to have been the medley of their song "Bent" and the Beatles "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window."
Ultimately the show was satisfying, and what you'd expect form a band that has ten plus years performing together. Good, but forgettable.
