The Average White Band

The Average White Band was supporting War. They have a jazz sound which was a little too cool and night club like for the large and open Hard Rock LIve. The five piece band did not approach War for their overall impact but gave an honest and interesting performance. The approach is cool and earnest and Steely Dan like so if you like jazz inspired music you will be entertained. I especially liked their version of the Isley Brothers' Work To Do' and they had the whole audience on their feet for the famous and much played "Pick Up the Pieces'.
