I think I wanted We Are Spies to be better than they were. There was nothing wrong with them, not at all. But they were just a bit... generic.

It's a shame as I had a chat with them before they went on stage and they're lovely guys. They've just been signed as well. But I wasn't blown away by their music.

It's good, tight sounding and well put together. Just like all the indie bands being signed at the moment. Anything raw that they may have had went out of the window a long time ago. They've been polished so much that they've stopped being interesting. It's not that they're bad, not by any means, but it does take the fun out of their music a bit.

And the singer had clearly spent more time blow drying his hair than I had.
