The Foxes

The Foxes are the perfect band to headline an Indie night. Which isn't necessarily a compliment. They go onstage, do their thing, and it's very good. But that's it.
They're on their UK tour at the moment, which did a quick fly-by in North London on Saturday. The Purple Turtle now has a brand new stage and the sound is much better than it has been. (Though the staff are awful and the toilets are still disgusting - but that's quite typical of Camden.)
The Foxes seemed pretty happy to be there. They did have their own person (their manager, I presume?) who jumped up on stage to introduce them which I found a bit pretentious. Surely they're capable of introducing themselves?
And then they did their set. It wasn't bad. It was good. It just wasn't very exciting. I liked them. They actually have a great sound, but there was nothing hugely memorable about them. Which for a headlining act, isn't really what I want. I wanted to finish the evening on a high and unfortunately, it just wasn't going to happy with this band.
