N*E*R*D have returned with what could possibly be their best album to date (yes, including In Search Of...) but have totally ruined this with their mediocre concert at Brixton Academy tonight. I have been to one N*E*R*D and one Pharrell concert before tonight and fully enjoyed it but tonight was different...yet the same. I mean that he performed the exact same songs from his previous concerts and only three tunes from the new album Seeing Sounds. The songs on Seeing Sounds are excellent so why not perform them? I understand that the album is brand new and the material would not have been so familar but the quality would have eclipsed the audiences' doubts. I feel like I have been to the SAME concert three times! And to be honest I found myself a little...bored. N*E*R*D still have a great stage presence and Pharrell is capitvating but that was not enough tonight. Pharrell, next time, give something new to the show whilst retaining the classics or you will be experiencing more and more real fans giving off bored vibes, don't be pulled in by those who screech at the mere sight of your navel...

Best Song Performance: Anti-Matter (Seeing Sounds)

Worst Song Performance: Bobby James (In Search Of...)

3/5
