The Beach Boys [actually 2 original members..but who cares at this point in their long career?] played a high energy show aided by long time sit in John Stamos.

In my mind they were an ideal New Year's eve band, with a huge back catalog of songs that everyone could sing along with. Make no mistake though, they have assembled an 8 piece band [7 excluding Stamos?] which does their classic songs justice. It didn't take long to remind everyone how welll their songs stand up, with really faithful to the original harmonies and a great sound. They really were legitimate American opposition to the Beatles in the 60's.

The crowd was a little slow getting into it but the songs are so good that they were soon on their feet and the band responded enthusuastially.

One highlight was when Lita Ford of the Runaways came out of the audience and tore offf a guitar solo on Barbara Ann.

The only disappointment was the lack of an encore but I give them 5 stars as it was a great way to see in the new year of 2011.
