Steve Miler played a bit of a yawner of a show at the Hard Rock. There was nothing wrong with him or his 5 piece band which included a backing singer. He has written some good songs which are still played a lot. With that background I somehow expected more. I think most of his songs have not aged well and also sound too much alike. The show started well with Jungle Love and Take the Money and Run and the band played against a cool illuminating backdrop. Somehow these songs did not energize the crowd and after Abracadabra the show sagged badly with a longish acoustic set by Steve. I realize a show needs to be paced but the acoustic songs were boring.

However the show was nearly redeemed near the end with Fly Like an Eagle and Keep on Rocking Me Baby which finally got most of the crowd on their feet. Then the encore sagged with a strange Space Cowboy type song before Space Cowboy itself was sung by the remaining enthusiastic audience.

I hate to not give a stellar review to a talented guy with many good songs but I was a little bored at times. Maybe I was having a bad evening!
