Rod Stewart is wearing well!
Rod is another ageless Brit rocker turned crooner. For his show he turned to his extensive back catalog and not his recent versions of classic songs. He put on an excellent show backed by a competent and attractive 11 piece band featuring a female saxophonist.
Rod's easy going charm moved the show along and with every song well known, the audience was soon singing along. Rod is lucky in that his unique voice has been easier to reproduce over the years. He looks and sounds almost the same as thirty years ago. One interesting moment was video of Rod and the Small Faces in their 20's.
The show was enhanced by live video of the band on a large screen although that was not really necesary in the 5,500 seat Hard Rock.
The strength of the show is the well known songs and most of the older hits were there and reproduced with high quality. Because every song is so good I was left wanting more even after Rod returned with an encore culminating with You Wear It Well. The show lasted about 1hour 25 minutes and I just wished it could have gone on a little longer. Then I would have given it 5 stars!
One word of advice..get there on time.. the first show I've ever been to that started exactly on time!
