An entertaining show by Rod....but he was not as good as when I have have seen him in recent years.

Although still a hugely engaging person he seemed to be going through the motions rather than connecting with the audience. None the less, the nearly sold out audience loved it; especially singing along with, and in some cases singing for Rod. When the audience sang, it gave Rod a bit of a breather, and as evidence that he was not quite on, he had a couple of false starts to his songs.

The audience loved every number as Rod worked through his 60's, 70's, and 80's hits and covered a couple of Motown numbers for good measure. I thought he was best on the slow numbers which he still sings with great emotion and the words were clear and meaningful. His 8 piece band was a little overwhelming otherwise, but the 3 piece female backing singers and saxophonist and violinist were skilled and attractive.

The big screen worked well; especially the close ups of Rod's stylish footware!

The audience wanted a second encore but the screen said he had 'left the building'....another encore would have capped an entertaining evening and made his show less packaged.

If you like to sing along with well known hits, catch him while he's still doing this.

i was at rods concert jan 30th at the seminole hard rock..i have been to at least 40 concerts from miami to atlantic city. i was lucky to meet rods son, sean.i got to see rod for 2 songs, then i walked toward the front of the stage and was taken away by 2 security seminole police officers and was told i was going to jail. im 60 years old and was handcuffed and taken to a back fenced lot. i was asked to give my name,as i didnt have my phone or pocketbook and no one i was with knew wherei was .i was also told to give them my social security #,which i did.two more police came back and for some reason they let me go and i couldnt go back to the event only to the casino, where i talked to security and was told to call the police for answers.i thought i was going to have a heart attack..i couldnt quit crying or shaking. i ran into sean in a very emotional time and he said he was so sorry but didnt know what to do.i wasnt drunk but our floor aisle was covered with beer so we all had to stand in the aisle.i would like rod to respond to this as i will never so around the seminole police again...neither should rod as its there own land and police.please help.sincerly, linda at

sorry you had this terrible experience. Although I was there I didn't see it.
I have seen that the concert security people are too keen to keep people back they believe are trying to crash to the front near the stage.
I don't think there's much you can do as the Seminoles are a law to themselves...maybe the media would be interested or perhaps you could write to Rod, who plays there quite often.
Hope this doesn't put you off the Hard Rock for ever as I have enjoyed a number of shows there.
