A survivor of the 60's Jethro Tull delivered an uninspired performance at the Hard Rock. Their strength, the originality of the flute of Ian Anderson, is also a liability as you tend to grow tired of the concentration on the flute. At times the concert was almost classical and the band neither rocked or swung, which did not allow the audience to really get into it.

None the less there were a lot of Jethro Tull fans present who were enthusiatic and called for an encore. The band delivered with Locomotive Breath, which turned out to be the best part of the show.

The musicianship was good but overall a rather tame show which did not take off until the very end.

Saw Jethro Tull Aug. 14th at Harrah's Casino and they were magnificant. I just wished that it didn't end so soon. Lots of old hippies, young professionals, and I saw many 18-25 year olds there, too. Plus there were folks there that were obvious cult followers with T-Shirts showing all Jethro Tull's tour dates on the back. One of the greatest bands in rock music history. I had a jolly good time.
