The B 52's New Year's Eve show was a disappointment. Even though the Hard Rock Live was set up as a half house [maybe 3000 seats] this band is not well suited to to large hall. They just do not have enough good material to sustain an hour and half show. I expected the crowd to be into it immediately as it was New Year's Eve and some free drinks had been supplied. Instead the crowd largely stayed seated as the B 52's material was not well known enough to get them off their seats. The band has a tendency to shout their songs which became annoying. Finally Love Shack did rouse the crowd but it was too little too late. I have a feeling that if this band could have played inside the casino at one of the small areas the house bands play to a standing crowd they would go down much better. Only see them if a big party is already guaranteed.
