Ladysmith Black Mambazo knows how to put on a show. From the very first song I was hooked.
LBM is a male choral group from South Africa that sings in the vocal style of isicathamiya and mbube. They achieved international popularity by singing with Paul Simon on his album, Graceland and have won many awards. They were formed in 1960, and have been touring the world teaching people about South Africa and its culture.
Their concert was extremely entertaining and moving. The eight singers often made jokes (in perfect english) while interacting with the audience. Their dancing was incredible. Each of the members had the ability to do high kicks - raising their legs over their heads. Keep in mind some of the members are over 60 years old! The songs were all catchy, with harmonic melodies that would give anyone goosebumps. I recommend this show to any music fan.
